Love Story Welcomes Willowby

I am so excited for the start of our Willowby by Watters Trunk Show today. We've received over 30 gowns and bridal separates from Willowby for the Trunk Show. I know crazy right! The store is overrun with soooo many gorgeous dresses right now I can't help but feel giddy. I just can't wait to see the faces of our brides as they open our door. I can't help but think they're going to be just as impressed and excited for this event as I am.

Willowby is one of my favorite lines for Fall as it epitomizes the dreamy, ethereal bohemian look so many of our brides want for their wedding day style. I love the unique design elements such as mixed fabrications, lace overlays, layers and layers of tulle and hand-beaded embroidery. Whether you’re a bride with laid-back style or you’re looking for a more fashion-forward edge, I promise you these Willowby collections have something you'll fall in love with.

In this week's blog I've picked out a few of my favorite looks from the Willowby Trunk Show pieces with an emphasis on showcasing how you can use separates to create your perfect wedding day style.

Separates for wedding attire are all the rage right now, forget the Kate Middleton wedding inspiration, crop tops are taking over. It is certainly not for every bride, I’ve heard all sorts of opinions and I think we are still trying to grasp the idea of not being traditional in the bridal gown sense. I personally, love the look. I think it can be perfect for the more casual bride, and can certainly be played up in formality too. I’ve also encountered a few brides that fear it may be too non-traditional for them but do love the idea, and it’s perfect for an outfit change if you’re looking to mix styles and change on your wedding day. Plus, wear the crop top with a cute skirt for your anniversary date night next year, or throw on a nice blouse and your leather jacket with the skirt. Or, honeymoon outfits...boom multiple uses, and still sentimental when you look back at the pictures of you in them each time you wore them.

Lets first talk about this Amora skirt. It is such a clean, soft look that you can play with tops to change up the style and overall look that you’d like to achieve. Light and so easy to wear you will never have to worry about being uncomfortable on your wedding day. Run through the cobblestone streets, climb up flights of stairs to your reception, be whisked away into a meadow to exchange your vows or dance the night away. It’s all possible in this skirt, and you’ll look so graceful doing so.

The Lanikai top..well I'm in love with this too ;) The lace is light and airy, you will not worry about movement or comfort level in this. And don’t worry about the long sleeves, they're breathable. You can even get the lining in an array of colors, so pair it with any bottom you’d like! Pair these pieces with the right accessories, and you can allow for easy and immediate changes in the style and even formality of your bridal look.

Now lets move to this shrug! It's by far one of my favorites to play with on the brides! I know what you’re thinking, it’s definitely SOMETHING. That something is fun. It’s not just for the funky, off beat bride, I’ve seen this paired with so many different styles of dresses, it’s insane. Every time I've styled this on a bride, her dress took on a whole new look. And if you need a light cover up for your big day, why not have fun with it? It’s so light and soft, with the delicate long ostrich feathers that make up the texture of the vest. With the instant change this vest gives you, think of it as two outfits for your wedding day. Anyone from Mae West to Cher would love this top. This works with any season, any style; winter/ glam, springtime/ edgey. It’s unbelievably versatile, and you will fall in love when you see it on. And as we mentioned above, this piece has lasting power beyond your wedding day. Date night with a pair of jeans and cage booties? Need I say more!

And last but not least this week, the Inez gown. This low-back stunner (yes you will leave them completely wow'd as you walk down the aisle) is revealing in the most elegant way. Complete open back with spaghetti straps that come down just around your shoulders. It has such a smooth and flattering fit on a bride. The consistent re-embroidered lace all down this dress creates a clean shape. These delicate feminine details ooze charm. The dress speaks for itself when you slip it on.

The fit and flare cut is flattering on almost all women, and the fact that the dress has a silky liner and is virtually weightless makes it even better. Basically you’re going to feel like you’re floating around in a sexy, floor length, satin slip (but not showing it all off). It doesn’t get any more romantic and beautiful than that. Well, at least in my book. The sweep train gives you just enough flair without any added weight or too much going on. Three words; simple, classic, and sexy.

As I sink back in my chair and look around at all these amazing Willowby pieces in the shop, I know our brides are going to be very, very happy.

Until next time! xoxox Skye
