The Willsie Wedding May 21st, 2022 Haley & Conor’s #lovestory

The Willsie Wedding May 21st, 2022 Haley & Conor’s #lovestory

Haley was a special Bride from the beginning. When she came into our shop, she was one of those Brides that stood out. She had a vision. She wanted to be this timeless, elegant Bride, in a dress she would cherish forever. Something we want every Bride to feel about their dress! When Hayley said “yes” to her dress, all our hearts skipped a beat because MY GOD was she going to be a gorgeous Bride. The gown she chose was & still is a shop fav. It's a special gown that stands the test of time. “Adrienne” by Pronovias was meant for Hayley & her vision she saw as a Bride!

Many wonder what their wedding day will look like, and for Hayley & Conor they were so blessed with a picturesque, SUNNY, spring day at The Country Club Of Troy. Tucked away on a hilltop they found a special place to share their vows before they said their “I do’s”, with the stunning mountains of upstate New York as their backdrop! (*gasp) If there is one word that continually comes to mind when looking at Haley & Connors wedding day…joy. You can see the tangible joy in the air that day. We couldn’t be happier for these two, and the most beautiful wedding day they share with so many loved ones!

Cheers , Haley& Conor

How We Met:

Conor and I met in middle school where we became best friends! When we were in 8th grade, we became closer and started having feelings for each other. At the 8th grade formal dance, Conor asked me to be his girlfriend and that is exactly when our relationship began! Now we have been together for 9 total years

The Proposal:

On our 8-year dating anniversary, Conor and I went out to a nice dinner and came home to watch the sunset.  As we went to the top of our property, Conor got down on one knee and proposed. It was exceptional due to the fact that it was our special day, we knew that once we graduated college we wanted to get married and start our lives together.

Little did we know, behind the scenes, Conor had my perfect ring since February, and was waiting for the perfect time to propose!

Fav Moments From The Wedding:

There were so many incredible moments leading up to the wedding.

The week before the wedding, Conor and I took a lot of time together to really soak in that our dream day was finally about to be here. We had an incredible rehearsal dinner with our friends and family the night before. On our wedding day, some of my favorite moments were our private first look, our private vows, the first dance, and our rehearsal full of dancing and fun. We chose to do a private first look with our private vows because it was really a day that Conor and I had been waiting for, for many years. It was finally our turn to share our love and celebrate with all of our close friends and family. Conor was shocked, in the best way possible for our first look. He was obsessed with my dress and never had seen anything like it before. He told me it was absolutely perfect and I was stunning. Our vows were very personal and emotional. Our first dance to John Legends’ “All of Me.” It was so special because it felt so real that everybody was here for us, we were finally one whole family. After dinner, we had an incredible time dancing to our favorite music with our closest friends and family.

Another favorite moment was when I did the first look with my bridesmaids. Because my dress was so special, I kept it a secret from everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY! The moment I put on my dress, walked down the spiral staircase, and waited for them to turn around was extremely exciting. As soon as they turned around and saw my dress, some started crying, they ran up to me and gave me a hug and were obsessed with the beautiful Pronovias Adrienne Gown.

New York Bridal Fashion Week '22

It felt so incredible to be back to watching live shows, to see & feel the fabrics, to look at how each gown would fit, and to absorb the inspiring energy of fashion week!

Here’s what we’re expecting & so excited for the upcoming Bridal season..

1.) Drama is IN! From dramatic detachable sleeves, a cape with your gown, or bold accessories. If you’re hesitant to be a little extra, now is your moment, Brides!

2.) Keeping it clean & classic. Something we were shopping for intentionally this season, was more clean and timeless gowns. Simple elegance is always in fashion! Classic wedding dresses are designed to stand the test of time, and it's truly an opportunity for you to shine as the Bride, but also create your own style. From the flowers to your accessories!

3.) Fit, fit, fit! Fit has always been so important to us, but designers are really stepping the structural game up. From fitted corsets, pleated skirts, draping, fit is taking a whole new form in gowns. And who doesn't want to feel the amazing security of extra structure in their gowns?! We are HERE for it!

4.) Put a slit in it. A Bridal element telling of our time, the slit! When done correctly, a slit really adds an element of sophistication & sexiness. The perfect combo to ensure a timeless gown. Some gowns have front slit’s to really show off a little extra leg or a fun shoe, or we are also seeing side slits. A new and elegant want to add a unique feature to a gown!

5.) Bridal is really stepping into a moment of art. Gowns are more grand, more detailed, more personalized than they have been in quite some time. So Brides don’t be afraid to really dive into your Bridal moment, there are gowns out there ready for you to make a major statement!

We are always shopping & curating with you Brides in mind. We know how challenging the Bridal shopping experience can be, and that’s why we hand select every gown. We full heartedly believe in what we select, and in return hope you find your dress with ease!

We are beyond excited to be a part of your #lovestory and can’t wait for all the beauty that is about to flood our shop!

Dress Shopping 101

Dress shopping is one of the most exciting moments for Brides, but can also be very intimidating! We want to help guide you from start to finish, as stylists, a bridal shop, and alterations studio, we have your back!
In the meantime, check out these questions and pointers we have before you start your wedding dress ventures!
  • What is your vision?
How do you envision yourself and your day, and can you be open minded if what you thought doesn't end up working for you? Talk to your consultant about the overall vibe and feeling of your event. Talk to us about your venue, your flowers, colors etc.

  • What do you think will look flattering on me?
Even if a gown doesn't catch your eye on the hanger, that doesn't necessarily mean it won't look amazing on you. Be open to what your consultant thinks will flatter you—it might be different than what you pictured!

  • Did you know some designers will make customizations?
If you’re concerned you're not quite finding what it is you're looking for, but it could be a simple tweak, ask the shop consultant what designers offer customization options are! A lot of designers have construction, color or fabric options At the very least, it will help point your consultant in the right direction.

  • Be comfortable with discussing price point, especially if it is important to you - speak freely, it's the consultants intention to keep you at a price point where you feel most comfortable, there is no judgement.  Weddings are expensive and everyone prioritizes their wedding day budget differently. If the consultant knows it's important to stay within a price point your appointment will be so much more productive.

    • What is the price range of your gowns?
It's important for not only your consultant to know your budget, but for you to know what the price point of the salon is! You want to shop where you feel comfortable price point wise, there is nothing worse than putting on THE ONE and finding out it's way over your budget!

    • When do I need to put my order in for this designer?
Did you know the average timeframe a designer needs for a gown is 6-10 months?!  But each designer is different, and it's crucial to know that window when ordering your gown. You also need to add time for alterations which typically take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks. So that there is no pressure on waiting for your dress, a year out is a good time to order your dress. However, if you do not have that time there are a lot of other options.  A rush fee, to ‘jump the que’ in production, which could be anywhere from $200 to $400, depending on the designer. Or purchasing a sample gown.

    •  Do you offer alterations?
Most shops don't include alterations in the cost of your gown, so factor them in before committing to a dress. At our shop we have a flat rate fee, so their on no surprise expenses when you come for alterations
